WWN Rumour Rules

In my last WWN hexcrawl I simply gave each player a rumour at the start of each session. This resulted in a very high turn-through of rumours that I found hard to keep up with.

For my next campaign I have devised the following rules, designed to add more value to a social skill (Connect) that isn't always super useful in a hexcrawl, and to help distinguish settlements:

When a character first enters a settlement, and for each week spent there after that, they may make a CHA/Connect check to seek out rumours circulating in the area. The TN of this check depends on the size of the settlement; it's easier to find rumours in a more populated settlement. In settlements larger than a village, characters may re-roll a failed check by spending at least 1d20*50 SP and a day carousing.
